Saturday and Sunday events will proceed as duathlon with time trial bike start; expected new start times posted

(PITTSBURGH) – Due to recent rainfall and the Pittsburgh Triathlon’s water contact policy, the water activities for the Pittsburgh Triathlon and Adventure Race, Aug. 13-14, are cancelled. The event will proceed as a duathlon (cycling and running) with a time trial bike start.

The bike and run distances of each event will remain the same (Olympic, Adventure and Sprint distances). The start of the event will begin at the transition zone in Point State Park with bicycles released every 3 seconds. The event is still a sanctioned event, and participants are eligible for age group scoring. The updated schedule of events with expected start times is listed below.

Will the morning transition times remain the same (5:00-6:20 am on Saturday)? Or will they be shifted as well?

Transition open will remain at 5:00 AM and technically it will not really close since the bike time trial will start from transition.
